Lily Evans's LiveJournal
Quarantine Blues & Gryffindor Drama
Week two of magical flu quarantine. You'd think being stuck in the dorms would be boring, but with this lot, it's anything but. James is... well, James is being *James*. The boys are all acting strangely, like they're trying to out-angst each other. Sirius has officially entered a new emo phase, if that was even possible. And Remus is just *tired*. I swear I saw him making another pot of coffee at 3 AM. At least Marlene and Mary are being adorable. Someone has to keep the sanity levels above zero. My LiveJournal is becoming my only confidant.

OMG LILY YES! The boys are being SO extra. Sirius is playing Dashboard Confessional on repeat. You should hear the convos in our chat. So much drama! Tell me more of your thoughts, girl!
It's 2 AM, I'm just trying to study. Some of us actually have classes. And it was tea, not coffee. (Mostly.)
The "Scientific Research" of James Potter
I knew something was off when James started talking about "scientific research" and "data collection." Turns out, his grand experiment involves Friendster and a *rating system* for "hotness." I still can't believe he actually asked people to rate him! The entire Gryffindor 7th years group chat blew up. I'm simultaneously mortified for him and endlessly amused. Honestly, the things boys do. At least it's providing plenty of material for my journal. Someone needs to document this madness.

It's not that bad, Evans. He's just... curious. About science. Yeah.
I don't even know what Friendster is. Is it like a really big Chocolate Frog card album?
It's very important research, Lily! For understanding human... attraction! Very complex subject!
Angst, Secrets, and Too Much Dashboard Confessional
Sirius is officially on a permanent Dashboard Confessional loop. He's either brooding dramatically or making cryptic comments about "impossible love". I wish he'd just talk to someone, properly. And Remus... he's been even more withdrawn and secretive than usual, especially about his "college friend" Grant. There's something big going on with him, I can feel it. It's like everyone's holding a piece of a puzzle, and I'm just watching from the outside, trying to fit them together.

Yeah, Sirius is a whole vibe right now. Maybe he just needs a spa day? You coming to ours tomorrow? We're doing face masks!
Everyone has secrets, Lily. Some things are just better left unsaid. (Don't worry about the coffee, I'm fine.)
My Current TV Obsession: Buffy and the Weight of the World
Alright, I've officially binged (as much as one can 'binge' with a single TV and limited channels here) through three seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, thanks to a few smuggled-in DVDs. And wow. Just... wow. The parallels are almost eerie. Here's this girl, trying to be a normal teenager, deal with school, friends, crushes, and then BAM! She has to save the world. Every. Single. Week. It's not just the monsters; it's the sheer weight of responsibility, the secrets she has to keep, and the way it messes with her relationships.
It makes you think about how everyone around here is trying to juggle their own drama and secrets while stuck in this quarantine. Like, is Sunnydale just Hogwarts with more leather jackets and less magic? The relationships are complicated, too – the whole Buffy/Angel/Spike thing... so much angst, so much impossible love. It almost reminds me of certain situations I'm observing in our very own Gryffindor Tower. It's compelling, though. Knowing someone else out there is dealing with that kind of pressure, even if they're fighting literal demons and I'm just fighting my friends' questionable life choices.

Sounds like my life. Except with more leather and less actual vampire slaying. Unless angst counts.
OMG you're watching Buffy?! Who's your favorite couple?! Spike and Buffy forever! So much drama! We need to discuss this immediately!
Interesting analysis, Lily. The 'chosen one' narrative does often overlook the psychological burden. Though I find myself more drawn to the monster-of-the-week procedural elements.
Lost in Verses: A Moment of Quiet Reflection
Amidst all the chaos and drama of the past few weeks, I found myself craving something... quieter. Something that makes you think, but in a different way than trying to decipher James's latest "scientific" theory. I pulled out my old anthology of Muggle poetry, and I've been re-reading some of the classics. There's something so profound about how a few carefully chosen words can capture an entire emotion or a complex idea.
I was particularly struck by a poem by Emily Dickinson tonight. "Hope is the thing with feathers / That perches in the soul / And sings the tune without the words / And never stops at all." It just resonated with me, especially now. Even when everything feels uncertain and confusing, there's always that small, persistent song. It's a reminder that even in quarantine, even with all the drama, there's still beauty and resilience. Maybe I should try writing some myself. Or maybe I'll just stick to LiveJournal. It's less intimidating than a blank page waiting for a sonnet.

Dickinson is excellent. If you're interested in more contemporary Muggle poets, I could suggest some. Or even some magical ones, though they tend to be less subtle.
Poetry? Sounds... deep. Is it like, emo songs without the guitars? "Hope is the thing with feathers" - is that like, a metaphor for a really annoying bird?
Lily, that's really... poetic! I tried writing a haiku about Quidditch once. It went: "Snitch flies so fast / I chase it, wind in my hair / Almost caught it. Darn." What do you think? Very scientific, right?
